thank god for sunroofs.

funny story.

a couple days ago, after a loooong day of work.  my brain was half fried.  i locked my keys in my car.  however, i left my sunroof open.

it was a saturday.  it was in the parking lot of an extremely busy shopping center.  i mean, think of walmart parking lot on black friday.  it was almost that busy.

i had gone into the liquor store to buy some wine for dinner for paul and i.  so i had a bag that had the liquor store logo on it.  talk about looking like a suspicious rebel ;-)

since i'm so short, i had to climb up the trunk of my car and up the back window. i slowly lowered the wine through the sunroof.  at least i didn't look as suspicious trying to break into my own car now. i mean, it's pretty normal for someone to be on the roof of their car looking down into the car through the sunroof... happens all the time (sarcasm). next, i slowly lowered my own body into my car from the sunroof.  yep. how embarrassing.

whew.  at least that part was over no one yelled at me or tried to stop me.  i looked over at the car next to me and there was a lady in the passenger seat staring at me.  as soon as we made eye contact, she turned her head down and looked straight at her book.  thank god.

this whole time, i am thinking about what i am going to do if someone calls the cops on me.  i had my license and the title (the car is in my name, after all).

i thought i had made it until i turned the car on.  BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Why does my car alarm have to be so freaking loud?!?  why?

panic.

so my car alarm went off for at least 60 seconds straight.  the longest 60 seconds of my life, i must say.  i am opening my car doors, locking and unlocking the door, turning the car on and off, beeping my own horn trying to turn the alarm off!

a mini van starting beeping his horn at me when finally my alarm turned off.  i put my car in reverse, nonchalantly, and backed out of my parking space without making eye contact.

i will never work 69 hours in 7 days again. never again.  i was so incredibly embarrassed.
