i need your opinion

okay guys, i really want your thoughts on this article.  it's by donald miller, the author of the book 'blue like jazz'. i really like this article and i see a lot of truth in it.  please tell me what you think of it.  and how can we change this crazy cycle of talking bad about other christians and their theologies? what about bad mouthing other religions (yes, it's uncomfortable, but i went there)?  how do we fix this? what's the solution? if you don't agree, why not?  Comment, email me, facebook message me.  division in the church is such a hard thing.  it hurts my heart. a lot.

here is the article, it's a quick and easy read.

i'm not trying to bash the church by any means.  i love her.  i am a part of her.  i wonder what the church in Acts would think about this and what they would think of the part of the body of the american church. i wonder what Jesus thinks.  how biblical are we?  i think there is a lot of good in her.  but why the division?  why do we get so fiery and defensive when it's all about Jesus?  His law is love and his gospel is peace. That's all that matters... it's love and Jesus.

hiccups and lying groundhogs.

first of all. i'm sick of winter.  we got 10 inches of snow last night.  phil the ground hog is a liar!  he needs to retire and we need a new one.  it as 70 degrees last week.

second of all, the other day, i had mad hiccups all day long.  i was driving my coworkers up the wall.  nothing would get rid of them.  finally after paul asked me to go to another room while  at home, we decided to try the old  myth of drinking water upside down.  it really works!

mom,i know this looks like keg stand. but it's water in my water bottle.  and i've never done a keg stand. no worries.

so if you're ever in need of getting rid of hiccups, make your husband hold your legs in the air.  unless you're talented enough to do a hand stand all by yourself and drink water at the same time.  haha!

jocelyn

my friend diane is having a baby girl named jocelyn!  diane just had her baby shower and unfortnately because of how busy i've been, i wasn't able to make it.  but i made her a little decorative pillow for the nursery to go along with some baby supplies that i bought her.

it was the first time that i made buttonholes by myself. it actually worked out alright.  except the first hole that i ripped, i ripped through the buttonhole thread.... oops.  the nice thing about thread is that you can just sew over it again.  can you see which one was the mistake?

and of course i had to add a flower because i love girlie stuff! but hey, at least there weren't any ruffles... haha!

thankful.

remember my post a couple days ago about making a pin cushion because mine is terrible.  well for my birthday my mamaw made me two!  they are the most BEAUTIFUL pin cushions I've ever seen!  I just have to share them because they are so beautiful.  I almost cried when I opened the one that says 'Remember Me'.  they are so thoughtful and meaningful.
(you can click on the picture to make it bigger and see them better)

look at the beading detail on the round one.  i love the glass candlestick and the wooden base as well.  it is an old 'pig scrapper'.  my mamaw had to explain to me what that is!  haha!  and they are super cushy and easy to put a needle and pin into!

thank you mamaw!

bedroom

i've been really wanting to make a duvet cover.  i found a great tutorial on how to make this anthropologie bedspread.

i am in love with like 3 duvet covers from anthro.  i also LOVE this one. (i really like ruffles and girly... poor paul)

and i just saw on this blog a CUTE room redo.  she got her bedspread idea from urban outfitters.

check out the entire room here.

Unfortunately, we can't do a white duvet cover because our BLACK dog sleeps on it all of the time.  he's dirty quite often.  so we were thinking of doing like a slate color... i would really like to go with a purple themed bedroom, but i don't want to make the bedspread purple, i want it more neutral so we can switch colors when purple goes out of style.  What do you think?  I need your feedback and suggestions!

pretty colors

i have a special lady friend who is having a special baby girl.  i'm not naming any names, but her name rhymes with Ramy Ravis.  Some of you might know her.  i've been working on a special gift for this special baby girl.  here's a picture...

oh come on, you didn't actually think i'd show you the project.

but this may or may not be some of the fabric i'm using.  i promise that it's not mismatched. i promise.  i'll show you all after this special mommy-to-be sees it first!  it's not done yet anyway.

mooooahahahahaha. (that's my dr. evil laugh)

let's just hope baby girl doesn't end up being baby boy or he's going to have to be really comfortable with his manhood and pink.
