o brother

today is a special day.  21 years ago today, a miracle came into my life.

there is one sound in the whole world that brings joy to my heart.. i mean the type of joy you can feel from the top of your head to the bottom of your toes.  the sound of this miracle's infectious laugh.  every time i hear it, i can't help but to experience this miracle all over again.

this miracle just gets me.  he loves me. he is inspires me to be the best that i can be.  i see how much my savior loves me for giving me this miracle as something to treasure forever.

this miracle is a once in a lifetime deal.  something you must experience in this world.

his name is Travis Powers.  and he is my miracle.  he is my little brother.  he is 21 today!

nail polish

i love painting my nails.  in my people style watch magazine i saw this color: commander in chic by sally hansen (it's the cheaper version to one of chanel's color's that all of her models are wearing in her spring collection on her website) and so of course i bought it at cvs since i get a discount.

the greatest downfall of being a physician assistant will be that i won't be able to paint my nails.  so i'm trying to get it in now while i can.  do you like the color?

i love it! it's like brownish greyish purple!

and i'm getting my hair cut on saturday... it is sooo long!  i need to get about 4 or 5 inches off since my hair is so unhealthy on the ends.

well i was playing around on a webiste to see what i would look like with shorter hair and this is what i came up with....  please let me know before saturday so i don't ruin my life by cutting my hair off :)  haha!

now time to do a little bit more studying for my huge chemistry test on thursday (yikes!)

procrastination.

i should be studying for my grade determining chemistry exam next week.  but instead...

when i was talking to amanda this morning about how much we both want to be crafty and make our own clothes, home decor... etc.  i decided to make some ear rings that i saw on a random blog.

so i went to the craft store and bought the earing (the back and the pin/tac type piece that goes in your ear), a hot glue gun, and buttons!!

take off your sandals

today is such a beautiful day. sunny clear skies, 84 degrees.

 you know when you have the feeling of peace and contentment....

that is what i am feeling.  sitting on my front porch watching the bees and birds and the process of spring just amazes me.  i am so in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.  somehow i know that everything is going to be just fine.  god is in control.

you know when you're sitting back and just watching your surroundings and you connect with something greater?  you know something big and beautiful is in your midst.  the place you are is.... holy.

so as i sit on my front porch, i take off my sandals....  because this feeling and this day and this front yard of mine... the place i am sitting now. is. holy.
