i love my family.

my family came up this last weekend and it made me realize how much it sucks to live so far away from all the people that you love.  if i was a millionaire, i'd fly home every weekend.

cyndi, jesse, and steph are coming for spring break and i can't wait!  i think the midwest is an ideal place for paul and i to spend our lives... it's closest to all the people that make such a big difference in our lives.

i think that maybe today i just feel a little H O M E

even now as i sit on the couch watching the olympics - cross country skiing, it reminds me of my father in law, brian. i think of how nice it would be to be back in minnesota at christmas with those relationships.

i'm very thankful for the people who love me and support me.  the other day i was talking with bob mcdonald (my mom's bestfriend's husband).  he works for wright pat AFB and it was such a blessing to talk to him about the decisions that paul and i have to make about our future (paul doing medical school through the airforce).  i loved how he was not trying to sway our decision and how he was just being open and honest about things and his opinion.  i know that he has our best interest in mind.  that type of love and community is so comforting.

isaiah 40:28-thirty one (my three key isn't working at the momet-haha). i read again today. last week i was talking to my dad on the phone and he brought up this scripture.  i find it so comforting today.

even in the middle of our challenges and struggles as we wait and hope in this moment - in the middle of heart ache and sadness, God doesn't promise "rosey circumstances", but he promises to renew us.... to give us just enough to keep going. to make it through.  and we will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint.  and the peace that this hope brings me is unfathomable.

i love being a newlywed in a new place.  it is such a blessing to learn to serve paul as his wife.  i find comfort in our relationship, in christ's promise and in community.

  2. ky. you are such an encouragement to me. you make me want to search high and low for God and the love that he has for every single person in this world. I love you more than life itself. I definitely feel so blessed that paul is part of our family now... I couldn't of picked someone better for you. happy birthday and i just want you to know how much you have helped me over the years. you are such an encouragement in my life. love you ky.
